Manovikas College of Special Education (MCSE), Ujjain is a leading institution dedicated to training special educators and rehabilitation professionals. Established in 2015 by the Diocese of Ujjain under MPVSS, it is affiliated with Vikram University and recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India. MCSE blends academic learning with practical exposure through internships in nearby special schools and therapy centers, equipping students with the skills and values needed to support individuals with disabilities.

Courses Offered at MCSE

B.Ed. Special Education (IDD) – Intellectual & Developmental Disability

A two-year degree program equipping future educators with skills to teach and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in inclusive settings.

  • Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
  • Affiliation: Vikram University, Ujjain
  • Approval: Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)
  • Eligibility: Graduation (10+2+3) with a minimum of 50% marks
  • Medium: Hindi / English
  • Seats Available: 30
  • Course Focus: Equips future educators with the skills to teach and support students with intellectual disabilities, emphasizing inclusive teaching strategies and individualized education plans

D.Ed. Special Education (IDD) – Intellectual & Developmental Disability

A diploma program designed to train teachers in foundational special education practices for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities across diverse learning environments.

  • Duration: 2 years (Full-time)
  • Approval: Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)
  • Eligibility: 10+2 with 50% marks
  • Medium: Hindi / English
  • Seats Available: 35 (5% relaxation for SC/ST as per RCI norms)
  • Course Focus: Prepares educators to address the educational needs of students with intellectual disabilities, focusing on curriculum adaptation and specialized instructional techniques

Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programs

Short-term certified refresher courses for in-service professionals to upgrade knowledge and skills in disability education and inclusive practices.

  • Certification: RCI-recognized refresher courses
  • Frequency: Multiple sessions yearly
  • Target Audience: In-service special educators and rehabilitation professionals
  • Objective: Update skills in disability education—covering areas like ASD teaching methods, vocational training, advocates, therapy, and career guidance
