Campaign Story
Monu is an orphan child with multiple disabilities. He came to Manovikas Samarth Centre, Ujjain – our Respite Care Home – in the year 2007, when he was just 3 years old. A social worker brought him to MPVSS.
When Monu arrived, his condition was very critical. He could neither walk nor stand. He used to cry even to express his basic needs. He lives with multiple challenges – intellectual disability, locomotors disability, visual impairment, and absence of speech. His health was very poor, and he also suffered from a severe skin disease. Monu’s understanding, attention, and concentration were extremely low, and he was unable to recognize even simple objects.
With continuous care, medical interventions, therapies, physiotherapy, special education, and full-time support at Samarth Centre, Monu has shown remarkable progress. Today, he can do many of his daily activities by himself. He can eat on his own, express his needs through sounds and actions, and identify his friends, teachers, and caregivers. Most importantly, he is now happy, stable, and responds positively to his training.
Monu’s journey is still ongoing. His therapies, special training , and stay in our Respite Care Home are possible only with the kindness and support of people like you. With your continued help, Monu – and many other children like him – can live with dignity, joy, and hope.
