Awareness is the foundation of inclusion. MPVSS conducts year-round programs on disability prevention, rights, and inclusion, reaching thousands across communities. We actively engage Anganwadi and ASHA workers, school teachers, PRI members, community leaders, and the public. By fostering understanding and advocacy, these efforts drive lasting change and help build a more inclusive, informed, and accepting society for persons with disabilities.
A disability awareness programme was conducted at an Anganwadi centre in the village Tajpur on 22 December 2022. The target group was Anganwadi workers and other female participants of the village. The programme focused on imparting basic knowledge about disabilities and prevention, enabling them to take care of themselves during pregnancy. The CBR team oriented participants on 21 types of disabilities, their symptoms, and procedures to identify signs of disability at an early age. Information was also provided about social security schemes of the government for people with disabilities.
