Community-Based Rehabilitation

Community-Based Rehabilitation

Community-based rehabilitation (CBR)is a community action to ensure that people with disabilities
have the same rights and opportunities as all other community members. This includes equal access to
health care, education, skills training, employment, family life, social mobility and political empowerment. Community based rehabilitation is a strategy for socio-economic development. MPVSS is running different community based rehabilitation programmes in
Ujjain for the people with disabilities.

Empowering Individuals with Deafblindness and Multi-Sensory Impairments

In partnership with Sense International India, MPVSS provides holistic support to individuals with deafblindness and multi-sensory impairments through education, vocational training, and livelihood opportunities. With two dedicated projects, we empower 230+ children and adults, equipping them with the skills and independence needed to lead fulfilling lives.

PRAGATI – Unlocking Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities

Despite the availability of government schemes, many persons with disabilities remain unaware of their rights. Project Pragati, launched in May 2023 with support from the M3M Foundation and S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, bridges this gap by connecting 300+ children and youth annually with key schemes such as ADIP, Niramaya, scholarships, and self-employment incentives.
Through awareness and improved accessibility, we empower persons with disabilities to lead independent and dignified lives.

Aashayen - Community Based Rehabilitation Project

Launched in 2022 with support from the Azim Premji Foundation, Aashayen is a pioneering initiative operating across 37 wards and 28 villages in Ujjain. It provides therapy, special education, and facilitates access to government support for 300 children (0–18 years) with disabilities, ensuring their right to inclusion.
The project promotes awareness, encourages mind-set change, and drives long-term empowerment, creating a sustainable impact through September 2025.
