Special Schools – Nurturing Potential, Enabling Growth

MPVSS runs special schools, five integrated centers, and a community center dedicated to students with special educational needs due to intellectual, multiple, or behavioral disabilities. Special education involves tailored programs and practices designed for children with intellectual, physical, or emotional challenges, requiring specialized teaching methods, equipment, or care in regular or specialized settings to support their learning and development.

Vocational Training Centre – Pathways to Livelihood

Vocational guidance and training are vital for the social inclusion of young adults with intellectual and multiple disabilities. At MPVSS, we offer structured vocational training to beneficiaries aged 18 and above through our Ujjain-based Vocational Training Centre. The goal is to empower them for job placements, self-employment, and participation in production activities for hands-on experience.

Integrated Training Centres – Inclusive Learning for All

Madhya Pradesh Viklang Sahayata Samiti has established seven Integrated Centers in partnership with mainstream schools of the Ujjain Diocese, located in Nagda, Tarana, Agar, Shujalpur, Zirapur, Narsinghgarh, and Biaora. At these centers, a dedicated team of special educators and caretakers work tirelessly to educate and support children with special needs, fostering their development within inclusive learning environments.

Community Outreach Centre

Despite the presence of special schools and integrated centers, many children with intellectual disabilities face barriers like distance and transportation issues, limiting their access to specialized training. To overcome this, MPVSS has established community centers within local areas to support such children using nearby resources and community involvement. Currently, a community center is successfully operating in the Harsiddhi area of Ujjain to serve these needs effectively.

Residential CWSN Hostels – A Home Away from Home

To ensure equal opportunities, MPVSS operates three hostels for Children with Special Needs (CWSN), each accommodating 50 children with disabilities. These hostels support their education in mainstream schools and are aided by the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan under the IED scheme of the State Government. Primarily benefiting rural children aged 6 to 14, the project enables access to inclusive education and overall development.

Respite Care Home

MPVSS has been running the Samarth Centre, a respite care home since 2003, at Chandessary village in Ujjain district amidst a serene green environment. Originally established to provide temporary relief to parents of children with disabilities, it now also offers long-term care to orphans and children with disabilities. The centre supports 50 residents with boarding, physiotherapy, skill development, and recreational facilities.

Therapeutic Units

At Madhya Pradesh Viklang Sahayata Samiti (MPVSS), Ujjain, we provide a wide range of therapeutic services for children and adults with disabilities. Our specialized therapeutic units are designed to support individuals with physical, intellectual, and communication challenges. Each unit is managed by qualified therapists who not only provide direct therapy but also extend guidance and counseling to parents of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
Our therapy units are open to all, ensuring that every individual—irrespective of their disability—can access quality rehabilitation and support services.

A. Physiotherapy

The Physiotherapy Unit at MPVSS is equipped with modern facilities to deliver customized treatment plans. Our physiotherapists specialize in helping individuals recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and improve mobility.

B. Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapy Unit helps individuals with disabilities live more independent and meaningful lives

C. Speech Therapy

At MPVSS, our Speech Therapy Unit provides assessment and intervention for children and adults with speech and language difficulties. We also address related concerns such as eating and swallowing disorders.

D. Psychological Assessment & Counseling

MPVSS has an in-house Department of Psychology in Ujjain dedicated to assessing and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
