Building Inclusion Across Disabilities
In Madhya Pradesh, over 15 lakh people live with disabilities, facing barriers to education, healthcare, and employment. MPVSS leads the way in supporting children and adults with Intellectual Disability, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Deafblindness, and other conditions under the RPwD Act, 2016. Through specialized education, therapy, skill development, and community support, we promote inclusion, dignity, and independence. Every individual we serve is recognized for their unique potential and empowered to lead a meaningful life.
Special Education
Every child with a disability has the right to quality education. Unfortunately, many are denied this due to societal misconceptions and a lack of inclusive systems. At MPVSS, we develop individualized education plans tailored to each child’s unique learning abilities, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed. Our specialized programs focus on essential self-care skills, social adaptability, functional academics, and holistic growth through sports and cultural activities. We integrate art, music, dance, and craft into daily learning, making education engaging and meaningful. Our goal is to build an inclusive and unbiased environment where children with physical, intellectual, or social differences can learn, grow, and thrive—ultimately becoming confident, independent individuals who contribute positively to society.
Therapeutic Interventions
Therapy is vital in enhancing the physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being of children with disabilities. At MPVSS, our experienced therapy team works closely with families, teachers, and caregivers to support every child’s unique potential. Our fully equipped centres offer a range of therapies, including physiotherapy to improve mobility, occupational therapy to enhance daily living skills, sensory integration therapy for children with autism, ADHD, and other sensory issues, and speech therapy to aid communication. Through personalized care plans and consistent intervention, we help children strengthen their abilities, build confidence, and actively engage in education and social life. Our approach looks beyond limitations—focusing on capabilities that empower each child to thrive in their everyday environment.
Vocational Training & Livelihood Support
Vocational training is a vital pathway to independence for individuals with disabilities, especially when traditional employment options remain limited. At MPVSS, we equip persons with disabilities with practical skills to foster economic self-reliance and personal dignity. Our training programs include computer literacy, handicraft production (such as candles, files, and decorative items), and manual to semi-automated manufacturing techniques. With the support of adaptive technologies, employer collaborations, and real-world training, we create inclusive opportunities that help individuals grow in skill and confidence. These programs not only enhance employability but also promote a strong sense of purpose and societal contribution. MPVSS continues to bridge the gap between ability and opportunity, making inclusive livelihoods a reality.
Parental Guidance & Counseling
Families are the cornerstone of care and development for children with disabilities. At MPVSS, we recognize the immense responsibilities parents carry and the challenges they face in understanding and meeting their child’s unique needs. To empower families, we offer regular counseling sessions that provide emotional and practical support, conduct workshops and training programs on disability awareness and management, and guide them in accessing government welfare schemes and rehabilitation services. Our goal is to build the confidence, knowledge, and resilience of caregivers, ensuring they can offer informed and compassionate care. When families are well-supported, children thrive — leading to better outcomes in education, health, and social inclusion.
Outreach & Community Engagement
At MPVSS, outreach and community engagement are key to breaking down societal barriers and promoting inclusion for persons with disabilities. Our dedicated outreach team conducts awareness drives, field visits, and counseling sessions across Madhya Pradesh—connecting families with vital resources and services. These programs aim to educate communities, foster acceptance, and ensure that disability support reaches even the most remote areas. We collaborate with local organizations, engage policymakers, and host community events to advocate for rights, accessibility, and equal opportunities. By raising awareness and building inclusive networks, we move closer to a future where every individual with a disability is recognized, respected, and given the chance to thrive.
Capacity Building
At MPVSS, we believe that skilled special educators are the backbone of quality inclusive education. To keep our team updated with the latest practices, we conduct regular capacity-building programs focusing on professional development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative teaching. These sessions cover disability-specific interventions, behavioural strategies, assistive technology, and inclusive teaching methods. Educators are also trained in family engagement and collaborative planning with therapists and counsellors to offer holistic support. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, we ensure our educators are equipped to meet every child’s unique needs with compassion and competence—ultimately creating inclusive classrooms where all learners thrive.
CWSN Hostels
Children with disabilities from remote regions often struggle to access quality education. To address this, MPVSS operates dedicated hostels for Children With Special Needs (CWSN) under the Inclusive Education Program – Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. These hostels provide a safe, barrier-free, and inclusive residential setting that supports both learning and personal development. Facilities include ramps, adapted toilets, assistive devices, and specialized teaching. Children receive life skills training and academic support in an environment that promotes peer interaction and social inclusion. Continuous monitoring by education officials ensures quality care and services. These hostels are a vital step toward bridging the educational gap and enabling CWSN to learn, grow, and thrive alongside their peers.
Respite Care
Caring for a child with a disability can be physically and emotionally demanding. MPVSS’s Respite Care Home offers short-term and long-term residential support for children and adults with developmental disabilities. It provides a safe, nurturing space where individuals receive life skills training, while caregivers get a much-needed break to manage personal responsibilities or emergencies. Services include personalized care from trained professionals, planned and emergency admissions, and support during difficult family situations. By preventing caregiver burnout and enhancing the child’s independence, our Respite Care ensures both family stability and individual growth. At MPVSS, we believe that empowering families and supporting well-being are key to building an inclusive and sustainable care environment.
Government Welfare Schemes Support
Navigating government schemes can be overwhelming for families of children with disabilities. MPVSS bridges this gap by guiding families through every step of the application process, ensuring eligible beneficiaries receive the support they deserve. We assist in accessing financial aid (e.g., pensions, scholarships), healthcare schemes (like Niramaya Insurance), travel and tax benefits, legal certification (UDID, disability certificates), and essential assistive devices. By making welfare schemes accessible, we promote financial stability, healthcare access, and education for children with disabilities. Our support empowers families with resources and awareness, helping every child move toward an inclusive, independent, and dignified future. MPVSS remains committed to enabling equal opportunities through continuous outreach and hands-on guidance.
Human Resource Development (Special Educators)
There is a critical shortage of trained professionals in special education and rehabilitation. MPVSS addresses this gap by offering RCI-recognized B.Ed. and D.Ed. programs in both regular and distance modes. These programs prepare educators to support children with diverse intellectual, emotional, and physical disabilities. Trainees gain expertise in inclusive teaching methods, assistive technologies, behavioral strategies, and curriculum adaptation. Practical experience and collaboration with therapists and rehabilitation experts enhance their ability to deliver individualized support. Through rigorous training and research-driven insights, MPVSS is developing a new generation of qualified special educators. Our goal is to create a future where every child with a disability has access to skilled, compassionate professionals and a truly inclusive education.
