M P Vikalang Sahayata Samti started its humble beginning in 1997 and now it has grown to an organization with three special schools, four integrated centres two DDRCs , two CWSN hostels under SSA and two hostels for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization is active in the field of human resource development also. This is a study centre of Bhoj Open University and we run B.Ed special education MR in distant mode. This year we could start B.Ed Special education in intellectual disabilities in regular mode . Manovikaas College of Special education affiliated to Vikram University Ujjain is a big step MPVSS has taken to create learned and dedicated special educators to take care of the learning needs of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The distance we travelled was not easy. But the Divine providence always kept the organization go forward. I would like to avail this page to acknowledge and greatly appreciate all our benefactors, donors and well wishers for all their great contribution in kind case and in person. It is with your timely and generous support that we could serve the children and young adults with disabilities. Thanks to each and every one of you. We expect continued support and end encouragement in the journey ahead.

MPVSS has trained 100s of children during the last nineteen years and could serve many more people and families who are with special needs. Special education is the most important activity of MPVSS which is aiming at the social and economic rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. Physiotherapy, vocational Therapy psychological therapy and assessment educational assessment are all aimed at to achieve the goal. Cultural and sports activities are part of regular curriculum. Our two students have participated in Special Olympics and got medals and now they are employed in the office and thus earn and contribute to their families.

Districts Disability Rehabilitation centre of Ujjain under ministry of social justice and empowerment is entrusted to MPVSS. We are running two CWSN hostels for boys one in Ujjain and another in Shajapur. We collaborate with Sense International India to work in the field of Deaf-blindness and MPVSS is recognised as the State Learning Centre.

Looking to the future it is very clear that we have to go a long way and the society is expecting us to enter into new areas. A permanent Stay Home for aged and left alone persons with disabilities is a felt necessity. There is also a need for early identification and intervention program to prevent and minimize the consequence of disabilities.

Less /difference in abilities does not make one less human. The society should be able to accept the individual differences and accept the ability of every individual and we should to appreciate the progress they make.
